Busy Birthdays

Kayla and Aaron have birthdays exactly one week apart. And it just happens to be right around Thanksgiving. Crazy, busy, fun!
I just wanted to show how cute the cakes turned out.

Well, 1. I am from Scipio, a town of about 200 people in Central Utah.

This is the house I grew up in and where my Mom still lives. (I found these pictures online. Scary funny to have your house posted on some travel blog web site!)

This is our barn. Growing up, I was a goat girl in a cow town. Which was a bit awkward and explains a lot about me.

2. I am one of 10 kids
I had to put in this picture because my hair ROCKS!!!

3. I served in the Canada Vancouver mission.

4. I was 19 when I met my sweet heart and the love of my life. We met because my roommate and I called a radio station to request a song. He is truly the best thing that ever happened to me and I love him so much it makes me tear up to think about. 5. I have my eyes closed in most pictures

6. I don't know what I was thinking, but in highschool I made/sewed my Jr Prom dress

7. I graduated from the University of Utah with a masters degree in public health. This is my dad and my sister and I am 6 months pregnant with Jason

I did it!!!!!

My sister has let me store her treadmill for her when she moved across the country. I have been anti-treadmill for a long time because I love to get out early in the morning and get some quality therapy time with my friends while running. But since I have had the treadmill I have decided there is something very satisfying about being able to see exactly how far and fast I ran. Don't be thinking that I work out on a regular basis. With the baby still waking up at night and being so random about it, I have been quite random about working out. When I first got the treadmill I set a goal to run a ten minute mile. A huge thing for me. And this morning I DID IT! I can't stop coughing now, but I did it. I don't think I will do it again anytime soon. But then again, maybe I will.

Good History

Today I was thinking of the major historical events I have been touched by: the space shuttle blowing up (both of them), getting up early for Princess Diana's wedding, the Oklahoma City bombings, September 11th, the Tsunami, Katrina. Most of these events (except for the royal wedding) have been very negative, frightening and sad. I was very excited yesterday to see good history in the making, to see people come together in a positive way, to feel the enthusiasm through out the country, to see dignity and grace in defeat. I am proud that I will be able to say that I voted in that election. We need more good history moments.

Halloween

First of all, I like Halloween. I think it is a fun little holiday. I want to emphasize the "like" part.I definitely am not at the LOVE stage. Although I do love when it is over. I am an old school girl- you know, the "lets look through the dress up box to see what we will be this year" kind of kid. Growing up, we never spent any money on costumes, except for maybe some spray on hair color, but that was it. And we pretty much came up with our costumes on our own a few weeks before the big day. So I kind of have a hard time buying costumes. I get a much bigger thrill out of being creative and making/sewing/hot gluing the costumes. (I admit, a few times making a costume has cost more than just buying the stupid thing would have but, well..hindsite.) Plus, Jason has come up with some creative and hard to find characters over the years (sonic the hedgehog and the silver phantom are just two examples). Anyway, This year Jason was Harry Potter. Pretty simple and straight forward except sooooo three years ago and a little hard to find. But doesn't he make a great Harry Potter?Kayla and I had a lot of fun putting together this cute gypsy costume. She wanted to be a witch at first, but then we found this great skirt and pulled a few more things together and bibbity bobboty boo... a beautiful gypsy queen.

Aaron will not go to anyone else, so I figured if he was going to be in my arms all night we might as well work with it. He was the parrot and I was a pirate. I love the tail feathers. Adorable.

Black Island Farms

October turned out to be such a busy month for us that we barely made it out to Black Island Farms before Halloween. We tried to go for Family Night but it just wasn't happening. Kelly came home a little early from work last Wednesday and we headed west west west.
