Park City: Fall Break 2009

We spent a day in Park City with some of our friends over the short fall break. One of the favorite things we did was tour the Olympic Museum at the Olympic sports park. It was amazing to watch the skiers practice going down the jumps and landing in the swimming pool, plus it is free. If Jason skied....

Our day at the Circus

Last month we got to go to the Circus with Grandma Joyce. It was a spectacular show. Not creepy like I remember it being when I was a kid (and the clowns stayed down on the floor and didn't get in our faces, which I hate. ) We had so much fun. The kids had never seen anything like it before and they were spell bound the whole time. The cotton candy was $10.00 a bag- can you believe it?

Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinite amount—that is the measure of God’s love for you.

God does not look on the outward appearance.

We are important to God not because of our résumé but because we are His children. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. God’s love is so great that He loves even the proud, the selfish, the arrogant, and the wicked.

What this means is that, regardless of our current state, there is hope for us. No matter our distress, no matter our sorrow, no matter our mistakes, our infinitely compassionate Heavenly Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us

FiRsT dAy of ScHOoL 2009

Here we go again!

Kayla started first grade. Her teacher is Mrs Carr. So far she likes music and art and math and writing. She doesn't like PE, but thinks school lunch "is good"
Jason is in 5th grade this year. His teacher is Mrs Cowley. He already has 65 AR points- (I think he is going for the class record). Right now he is reading Artemus Fowl and right before school started he finished (listening to) Brisinger. Science is his favorite subject, especially astronomy.
